Before and After

It’s no surprise I love photography, I love everything about it.  I love the people I meet, the locations I shoot, the creativity of a photo shoot, the complexity of the camera and lenses. Aperture, ISO, Shutter Speed, F-Stop, Prime lenses, Zoom lenses, Macro Lenses, Megapixels, RAW, JPEG,  PNG, Lighting, Automatic, Manual, Shutter Priority….I could go on and on. Then there are all the different programs out there to edit the images- I use  photo-shop,  light-room and a few HDR programs , I find all these programs fascinating and find myself on my down time playing around with images from past photo-shoots to see what else can be done with the images.   I am always reading, learning, practicing… It really upsets me when people think that photographers are expensive and feel like the hour shoot at $$ is too much.  Most people do not realize the amount of time, work and creativity that goes into a photo-shoot after we are done shooting. The following are just a few examples of edits  I’ve done.  Some are subtle and some are drastic. B&AThis photo was a little too sad/cold (due to the color), look at the difference A little sunlight and warmth give it. B7A 2

This one looked fine right out of the camera, but I wanted to make it a little artistic aeThis shot although beautiful had some shadow issues and the color wasn’t bright enough.  CT ocean (sound) isn’t as bright blue as the islands but with a little photo-shop magic it can be 🙂b&A 3This little girl is beautiful, but the tint in this photo really needed a lift, by warming it up and adding depth and a vignette…It made ALL the difference.as

This picture looked fine right out of the camera, but I never settle for “Fine” it has to be great!cdThis photo was also good right out of camera, but sometimes the colors are not bright enough for my taste so I brightened them up and added the sunburst… a subtle edit but what a difference.B&A 1

This photo had a lot of different edits, color change, tint change, fog added, blurred a bit, so much more was done….But I absolutely LOVE the final image. awThis too was a very subtle edit, just color edit and brightened it up a bit… but the final is amazing. Untitled-1This photo I loved both… the original and the edited version.  For the edited version I wanted it pink, why?  Why not? I loved the color of her jacket and I wanted to see what it might look like.  My client got both images to choose which one she liked better.  Photography is all personal preference.  🙂
