Lighting is one of the most important thing in photography. I always played around with lighting but wasn’t quite sure how to use it properly. I always got the photos to look the way I wanted them too post production, but who wants to do all that work when getting the light right makes life SO MUCH easier! These shots are right out of the camera other then a few touch ups on the models face! Now I own all these fantastic lights and a studio in my house. Although I still love outdoor natural light the most, I can take the shoot inside if it’s bad weather outdoors. 🙂
My New Studio!!
I am so excited about my new studio and all the new props I have! Although I LOVE natural light outdoor photography, I needed a studio for off season shoots! I set it up and had fun playing around with different lighting, thank GOD I had my friend Becky to help me out and be my Model. 🙂 My niece was over, so I grabbed a few of her and my son…
My poor husband who wanted no part of this walked by and I grabbed him too… I shot many pictures of him most of which were taken with him making funny faces. I managed to get one serious moment.
No one was safe from my studio today… even the cat had to have photos taken….LOL
Valentine’s Fun
Real Estate Photos
OK, So I have always wanted to try Real estate photos…I thought it might be something fun to do especially on the slow times of the year. I have to admit it was challenging getting the lighting to be just right, the best angle to show the room and using a wide angle lens can also be a challenge. But I could see myself doing many more Real-estate photos, and even opening it up to architectural photos as well.
Maternity Shoot on the Beach in January!
Really! This shoot took place in January on Short Beach in Stratford, CT! At first when I spoke with Melissa I thought this will never work, the temperature had been in the single digits for weeks. How can she go to the beach and strip down…she’ll freeze. So we waited and watched the temp and to both our surprise there were a few days that actually hit 40! So we went for it, funny thing was 2 days later we had snow and the temps went down again into the single digits. I think that mother nature knew how badly she wanted these shots done at the beach, and it warmed up just for her. 🙂 Now when the baby comes in a few weeks we have to bring him down here and take some of these same photos with him, hopefully by mid to late April we can have a little warm up again. Melissa looks amazing for being 36 weeks pregnant!! Keep a look out in a few months for baby Cameron!
-Sneak Peek- Maternity Photo Shoot
-Marina-
Ahhhhh Marina, how adorable she is. This photo shoot was a bit exhausting. She was FULL of energy! being just shy of 2 I knew what I was getting into when I got there 😉 . She was laughing then crying, then running and climbing, she was playing and hiding, and throwing and screaming, she was stubborn then easy going. She wouldn’t sit in front of the Tree, but then again wouldn’t any 2 year old do the same thing…. Her mom had given up hope on getting any good photos of her. BUT…she did… not only was she happy with the many photos, but was excited that we captured all the “faces” of Marina. She is so adorable we ended up with almost 100 photos. I think that was a good days work 🙂
Love The Shoes!!!!
Of course I had to get a few pics of the dog too!
