Toughest photo-shoot EVER!

lSo they say a photographer NEVER has pictures of their own families…. This is SO TRUE!  It is so much easier and  and rewarding to take photos of other families -we are very patient when it’s not our own kids!

My kids (and husband) will not let me take pictures of them…EVER.  I think they are so tired of me having a camera in my hands at all times, that they run when they see me coming with that look on my face 🙂  So I rarely ever even try anymore….however Christmas time is a different story. It took weeks for me to coax my kids into letting me take pictures for a Christmas card.  I had to promise all sorts of things just to get them to come into the room where the Christmas tree is. Then once they got there all they wanted to do was escape and go about their merry way.

The only one in the family that does not  seem to mind is the dog, I believe he actually enjoys posing for photos. Or as my husband seems to think he may be too scared by my aggravated  demeanor to misbehave!  Whatever the case,  he sits or lays down where ever I ask him too and waits patiently -while the kids make faces, argue, complain and give me “fake” smiles. (As you will see in the photos)  He is smart enough to realize the quicker everyone listens  the quicker we can be done.  I wish he could explain this to my lovely boys.

Anyway after almost 2 hours and a lot of  aggravation and some yelling I managed to get a few shots for the Christmas card…. The cards went out really late this year, maybe next year I should start this major project in September. 😉bacDegjmnk fi

The “B” Family

Well, I know I only posted the sneak peek yesterday but quite honestly, I am so happy with how all these photos came out I couldn’t wait to share!!!  untitled-2It was so much fun…this photo shoot took place at their home, where the kids were the most comfortable.  I love going to peoples homes and making the photos as personal to them as possible.   They have a beautiful home with a great fireplace, and bay window which I loved for the photos… I am pretty sure they will have a hard time choosing from all the shots which ones to use for their holiday card! 1243 untitled-2-928untitled-2136untitled-2-291134untitled-3-6untitled-11IMG_2521IMG_2580IMG_2600IMG_2505IMG_2512aIMG_2507IMG_2553IMG_2558a7525252

I think she was finally done 😉

The Chuhta Family

1a The Chuhtas are very good friends of mine, and this is the 3rd time I have photographed them. This time it was different though, they have a new addition to the family…their whippet puppy “Arlo”.  We had tried for nearly a month to get a date together for photos they wanted outdoor shots, we were cutting it rather close and with their busy schedules it was nearly impossible. We figured we had missed the chance and would have to move the shoot indoors with the weather for the last few weeks in the 20’s/30’s.  December 1st finally worked out and the weather couldn’t be better!! It was in the 50’s!!! I don’t know what strings they pulled with mother nature but it was perfect!!

Xmas Card photo shoot

1a These kids are absolutely adorable, and so much fun!  They are both little models!! I met them at their home in Monroe. It was later in the afternoon the sun was going down so we didn’t have too much time. But they were both little troopers!! Everything I asked them to do they did, even though it was a really cold and windy November day. Never complaining even I wanted too… 🙂  we got so many great shots…I think mom got her Xmas card photo. 4a7c5a14a11a91716 20a23 64a5648474028345419
